School Council Update

Season’s Greetings from your School Council!

Stewart Ave. School Council would like to thank you, our parent community, for your fundraising support this past year. The funds raised were used to:

  • Install the outdoor primary play area developed by Earthscapes, the last phase of the schoolyard greening project (See the virtual design on YouTube.)
  • Purchase new school jerseys, three hydration stations, six chromebooks, and a new school banner for use at sporting events
  • Provide MuchMusic Video dance services , food and decorations for Grade 8 graduation
  • Support the Nutrition for Learning snack program
  • Run the Dollar Bazaar annual gift giving event

This year, all proceeds raised from pizza sales will go to the music department, hot dog days will support the Grade 8 graduation dance, and the QSP and Lace Lidz fundraisers will support the purchase of new technology.

We encourage you to get involved by joining us at our next School Council meeting on Wednesday, January 11 at 6:30 p.m. in the school library. We are still looking to fill the Secretary position. The benefits of investing in your school community are numerous. We hope you will come out and experience them for yourself!

Sincerely,
Jennifer Smith
Council Chair, on behalf of Stewart Ave. School Council
