March is National Social Work Month, and March 6 to 12 is Social Work Week in Ontario. Here at the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB), we are recognizing and celebrating the incredible work of our social work department.

Social Work Professionals in the WRDSB

The WRDSB’s team of 28 highly skilled social worker clinicians supports students, families, educators and the community. They work from a trauma-informed, strength-based perspective while respecting and honouring the culture and affirming the identities of our students and families.

Social workers are front-line staff. They provide mental health support to WRDSB students, as well as critical crisis intervention assessments. They also work closely with community partners to ensure the well-being and safety of our students.

Social workers are an integral part of our school system. Join us as we celebrate the excellent and important work they do for our students, families, educators and community.

Share Your Gratitude

To help us celebrate our incredible social workers, we’re inviting you to thank our WRDSB social work staff for all the important and supportive work they do to benefit students, their families and WRDSB schools. This is as easy as posting on Twitter or Instagram, and please be sure to include #SocialWorkWeek #socialworkWRDSB and #MoreThanEver when you post.
