The 2015 Forest of Reading Program is up and running!
THE FOREST OF READING® AWARD PROGRAMS… Where children and young adults pick the winner!
Readers choose a program that they would like to be a part of, usually based on their age or grade, and simply begin reading! They can read all ten of the titles, or pick and choose to read only the ones they are interested in. Participants are encouraged to read at least five of the ten titles to be eligible to vote in April. This program aims to encourage a genuine and life-long love of reading among students of all ages!
This is an annual winter program that our school participates in.
The Forest of Reading® is an excellent opportunity for young readers to get to know imaginative and creative Canadian authors/illustrators, as well as supporting these amazing artists and the Canadian publishing industry as a whole.
All primary classes are participating in Blue Spruce (K-3)
Each week the primary classes enjoy a new Blue Spruce story as they visit the library for their book exchange visit.
Grades 3-8 students were introduced to the program and this year’s nominated titles as they visited as a class during the week of January 12th.
We have 10 students participating in Silver Birch Express (gr. 3&4)
We have 19 students participating in Silver Birch (gr. 5&6)
We have 9 students participating in Red Maple (gr. 7&8)
